History – Jarman celebrates 25 years!
网上体育投注官网Wesley V. Jarman Elementary opened its doors on August 21, 1991 to approximately 650 students in grades kindergarten-sixth. The school was built to relieve crowding at both Darnaby and Andersen Elementary. Jarman Elementary is named after former superintendent Dr. Wesley Jarman who served Union Public Schools from 1975 until his retirement in 1990. Jarman Elementary holds full accreditation status from North Central Association and the State Department of Education in Oklahoma.
On May 15, 2017. Jarman celebrated its 25th anniversary. Live up to your potential and seek out your dreams, and always remember that you came from Jarman Elementary School, retired Jarman Principal Patti Pitcock advised students during the anniversary celebration. Dr. Wesley Jarman, for whom the school is named, said he continues to admire the school and continues to follow the school's accomplishments.
The special ceremony also paid tribute to the all the teachers who have worked at Jarman over the years. Three of those teachers – Denise Thomas, Sheri Tallman and Michelle Adams - have continued to teach at Jarman since it opened in 1992, and were honored on May 15, 2017.

Shawna Thompson was named principal of Jarman Elementary School in May 2012. She joined Union Public Schools in 2011, first serving as an administrative intern for Roy Clark Elementary School.
网上体育投注官网Thompson earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Oklahoma in 2003. She returned to the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa where she earned a master’s degree in Educational Administration in 2007.
Thompson comes to Union from Jenks Public Schools, where she taught in both the fifth and sixth grades for seven years. During that time, she served on numerous committees, including leadership, curriculum, and research. Thompson also worked with Jenks Community Education as a Quantum Learning parent and child class instructor for two years. In 2008, Thompson traveled to China, where she helped establish a relationship with a sister school in Nanxi. She returned to China in 2010 to teach English for two months. Additionally, in 2010-2011, Thompson was named site Teacher of the Year.Thompson loves being a part of the Jarman community and cherishes the relationships she has made with the students, staff, and families as principal.
Randi Aubertine was named assistant principal for Jarman in 2019. She previously worked in the district at Boevers as a special education teacher and then served as an assistant princiopal at Grove, Briarglenn, Jefferson and Clark. She moved back home to New York this past year, but now she is back at Union!
